Since 2010 is still only just about a week old, there is still A LOT of time to get your online marketing efforts into full swing to start the year off with a BANG!

I discussed in an earlier blog post about how important it is to learn from people who are taking action and are where you want to be. I just wanted to touch on that again in this post, as I think many people skip past it without realizing just how important a teacher/mentor/coach can be.

One big trap that a lot of beginner marketers fall into is the feeling that they can do and learn everything themselves and still be successful within a few months. For the most part that can not be done, simply because there is so much to learn and so many distractions that will pop up.

I remember when I was starting out online I thought that way too, I wanted to do everything myself, and so I did. Since then I have learned to do just about anything that I could ever need to get done… but has it cost me a lot of time and money in the process? It probably has.

I spent probably days on end in the beginning to learn how to make a web site and figure out all of the hosting issues, but I did eventually get it done. I also learned over the years how to make some cool web graphics, how to use an autoresponder, 100+ ways to drive traffic to my sites, how to build an email list, how to write an ebook, and so many more things which I could never mention them all.

Note: As a beginner there are certain things that you really should learn how to do, but there are also many things which you don’t necessarily need to learn. They might be nice to learn, but it might be worth a lot more to get someone else to do it for you.

What I am getting at is that when you have a good mentor or coach who is helping you along and pointing you towards success, your job as a beginner becomes A LOT easier. If the coach is giving you step-by-step actions to take, you no longer have to worry about what your doing or if it will be successful, because your knowledgeable coach already knows it will be.

All you have to do is follow what they teach!

It is now officially the year of this blog… the year 2010 I have waited nearly six years to say that, ever since I bought this domain name. So I guess I should make this year the best yet for this blog. Let’s start it off with 4 ways that you can make more money online in 2010.

I am often amazed at all of the money making opportunities around us online, there really is many more than any one person could implement. The problem comes when you are starting on a new project only to learn about an interesting new tactic that you want to try out. You have to be careful to plan out your attack and stay focused… or else you will never get anything done.

With that said,  the below money making ideas for 2010 should only be used when you are NOT working on another project. Take action… but be focused and complete a project before starting another one.

#1. Sell your services online.

This is probably the easiest way to make money online as it uses your existing talents and allows you to work only when you are sure you will get paid for it. You don’t have to write an ebook or spend time creating a web site… all you have to do is tell people about what you offer and complete the work once someone commits to hiring you.

Here are a few services which you might be able to provide;

• Writing articles or ebooks,
• Market research for niche keywords,
• Creating graphics for web sites,
• Link building,
• Social/Web2.0 marketing,
• Copywriting,
• Programming,
• Web site creation.

All of those (plus more) are a great way to get started making some money online.

#2. Create niche web sites.

This method to make money is also fairly easy to do and it can be done for very little money, just a few bucks.

Set up a web site which contains great content about a particular topic, something interesting and something which people are looking for information about. You will have to do some niche keyword research and write some articles, but for the most part once the initial work is done you don’t have to do too much with it any more. Place ads on your site for related products or services, or use Google AdSense to bring you in some extra money.

The real power in this method is to create multiple web sites which all do the same thing, all targeting different keywords and all receiving some traffic every day. Individually they probably won’t make you rich, but with 10, 20, 50, or 100 sites, that’s where the magic happens.

#3.Create your own product line.

If you really want to take your business to new heights in 2010, start creating your own products to sell online. By doing this you will be able to leverage so much more, it really does take you to a new level.

• Go into a popular market,
• Find a niche within that market that is looking for an answer to a question,
• Research the answer and create a product,
• Deliver that product to sell to make money!

There is so much more that I could write about this method, books have been written about the individual steps, but I will try to go into a bit more detail in the future.

#4. Build your list!

This is probably the single most important thing that you can do for your business in 2010. If you are not doing it yet… DON’T WAIT any longer!

Your email list allows you to do so much more and gives you so much more freedom, as you can be anywhere and still make money with it. In any market, the easier and faster you can communicate with your audience, the more chances you have to making more sales… and a list can do that.
