I can’t tell you what to do or what type of online business is best, as they all involve different amounts of work/time, money, and skill.

But whatever you decide to do… do it 100%. Don’t let anything stop you!

Here’s a few of the many possible online business ventures:

• Building multiple websites that rank high in the search engines that you can earn advertising revenue from (like Google Adsense and others).

• Become a freelancer. Offer writing services, programming, graphic design, etc.

• Create digital products to sell, like ebooks, videos, software.

• Teach people how to do something, via a blog, online course, etc.

• Create websites for the purpose of selling them.

• Build a website design service business, building sites and offering other related services to clients (Hot topic right now for helping offline businesses).

All of these things require work and time. You WILL have to invest time to learn, don’t expect to know how to do your work well with just a few hours of trying it out.

But also don’t get stuck in the learning phase. Many people will stay there and never think they are good enough to be paid for their work.

Let me be honest and say… working online for yourself might not be the best thing for everyone. It takes work and a lot of discipline, but if you can handle that, then it might do very well for you.

Push yourself to work hard, push yourself to continually grow your business. Get started NOW!

2. Write down how much time and effort (and money if needed) you are willing to use to help you reach your goal (full time or part time?).

4. Write out weekly and monthly goals as to what you will do starting tomorrow to reach your goal.

I realize that you won’t have all of the answers yet, and that’s ok. Over time as you start learning and making progress, your immediate goals will change and things will become a lot clearer.

There are many ways that you can make money online, but one of the quickest and easiest is affiliate marketing. Affiliate marketing is when you promote someone else’s product, and if the visitor you send to their website purchases their product, you will earn a commission for that sale.

On the surface this sounds like a great opportunity, and it is… but only for short-term or as a substitution to your overall online business ventures.

The problem is that you are relying on someone else to pay you your commissions and that their business will always be up and running. What would happen if you have been making thousands of dollars every month promoting a certain product, then all of a sudden that product can no longer be sold for whatever reason (there are possibly many valid reasons this could happen)? Or what if the product owner is in need of some immediate funds and decides to hold off, or to never pay their affiliates?

It’s risky to have all your eggs in one basket!

Of course, you should always do your due diligence before promoting any product. But with the internet being all over the world in just about every country, you can never really know for sure how long something will stay online for.

As for affiliate marketing, it is something I still do as part of my overall internet business, but I do not solely rely on it, even by spreading it out amongst several different affiliate programs.

When you have control over the product because you created it, you now have all the power to decide everything about it. For example, you can decide if any affiliates can promote it, their commission percentage, the selling price of the product, the marketing methods to bring people to the sales page, and you decide how much money you will make with it!

My main point here is that you should not rely on someone else to pay you every month, it’s very nice when they do, but don’t count on it coming month after month. Instead, create your own information product that you can sell online, then build up your own internet business around it, so that you can have control over it.

In this post I am going to share what I think is one of the biggest reasons why internet marketing beginners/newbies have a hard time starting out and making their first few dollars online.

I remember when I first started out online all of the new shiny tools, tactics, and online marketing ideas being thrown at me, I wanted to jump right in and start doing it and make some money. But this is the exact reason why it can take people so long to start seeing success.

The problem: You have to learn the basics before jumping in.

It doesn’t matter what niche or field you are trying to work in, if you do not understand how the basics work, then it will take you a lot longer to get going. Sure you can buy all the new tools and possibly get something going… but sooner or later it will all catch up and you will have no idea what you are really doing and how it all works together.
