One of the most important things for any web site is traffic right? Without traffic (people visiting the web site) the site is basically dead and your message will not be seen by anyone.

You can spend hours and thousands of dollars to make a nice pretty web site, but if you do not focus on getting traffic to it, then what’s the point?

One of the best free ways to get traffic is to rank high in the search engines like Google, Yahoo, and Bing, but SEO (search engine optimization) is not always that easy to figure out.

The main problem that I see is that a lot of “SEO experts” try to make it seem a lot harder and complicated then what it actually is to rank high. Therefore a lot of web site owners do not even try that hard to learn it… but if they would, they would learn that it really isn’t that hard at all.

**** Sidenote

I do want to make sure that I say this… that getting on the first page of Google is not that complicated and the techniques themselves are not hard. But if you want to rank for a popular keyword like “make money”, than it will take a lot of time and work to do, but that work isn’t hard to do and can easily be outsourced.

However, if you want to rank high for niche keywords that are not very popular, than it can be quite easy to do without much time involved.

So then… how can you get on the first page of Google?

If you are an Internet marketer and are selling products and/or services (either your own or as an affiliate), then one good way to get nice search rankings is to follow these few steps;

Set up a blog on the niche topic,

Configure the blog for SEO,

Post content with the product name as the title and mention it throughout the content.

Those 3 steps can rank you pretty high for product specific names that people are looking for more information on.

As you can see, this idea is not hard to understand, and not hard to implement either. If you are promoting affiliate products (digital or physical) or if you have your own products, use the name of those products as your post titles and in the content… how hard is that?

I have been doing this for a while now with info product names and I regularly rank on the first page (if not one of the first 3 listings) in Google.

**** Use this free gift to help you rank higher

I made a quick video and a short step-by-step report that details how I do this. I even show you what keywords I used and what sites ranked high for those terms.

It’s a free gift that you can download from First Page Tips.

This this post I want to share with you why it can be quite important to set up a new blog in a certain way in order to get the most out of it FOR YOUR OTHER WEB SITES.

**** Preamble

But before I go into that I need to ask you this: how many different web hosting accounts do you currently have?

If your answer to the above question is under 2, than please seriously consider what I have to say next.

Everything online can all be taken away in an instant… POOF it’s gone, without any notice and without any real reason or explanation. I’m talking about your own web content on your own sites, as well as content that you might have on other web sites like those free blogs or web2.0 sites.

What do you think would happen to your online business if all of a sudden you had no web presence? I think it could easily crumble, or at least set up back a lot if you had to re-upload all kinds of material (that is if you had it backed-up somewhere).

My point is that you really need to have your web sites and online business spread out on the Internet, on different servers/hosting accounts incase anything should happen to either one of them.

In terms of cost, go get two $20 a month hosting accounts, or even a $5 one if all you want is basic hosting and nothing else. But… why not get 3 or 4 hosting accounts? Keep reading to learn why that might not be such a bad idea.

**** Back to the main story

So what is it that I think you should do if you are setting up a new blog (or web site) that can benefit your other web sites?

Just to make it clear, I am not talking about how to properly configure your blog or how to code your web site. This tactic which can improve your other web sites is done BEFORE actually posting or installing anything on your site.

If you haven’t guessed it yet, this has to do with your web hosting account. Another good reason to have multiple hosting accounts is to set up your blog on a different hosting account other than what most of your sites are already on.

Search engines like backlinks to your site… that is no secret. But what search engines also like are backlinks from other web sites which are NOT YOUR OWN web sites, or at least NOT HOSTED ON THE SAME SERVER as the site it’s linking to.

Yes, the search engines are smart, very smart, they can tell where the link is coming from and if it may be from site on the same hosting server.

To make your backlinks go further, the next time you set up a new blog or web site, install it on a different server or even a totally different web host. This way you can link from that new site to your other sites and get more from your link.

**** To help you do what I talked about above

All you need is another web hosting account to get the most out of this. I currently have 3 (maybe 4) hosting accounts and I love all of their services, each one of them has been fantastic for me.

If you want just web hosting or a great price, use HostGator.

If you want to sell info products, have affiliates, and do anything an Internet marketer would want to do, get Ultimate Marketing Center.

If you want your own server or virtual server or need to run substantial scripts, then I would get HostICan.

Whatever your hosting needs are, one of those providers will be perfect for you. Just make sure to have multiple hosting accounts in case anything should happen, but also for the added benefit of better backlinks.
