A great list for a good start to an online business. Reminds me of something that I just heard the other day that I am going to start using in my business:

“Brave acts of Awesomeness in the face of Regularity”

In other words, just take action and you won’t be considered mediocre.

A content web site really doesn’t need to be looked after all that often. Depending on the topic, maybe just 1 or 2 new articles to it every month would be enough, which means that you can easily have many web sites.

I did say 50 or even 100 web sites, but when you have that many you are probably looking at hiring someone to help you with them. So either way it is a very do-able method to make some money.

I will try to explain in more detail later on about why you might want more than 10 content web sites.

Great post and a Happy New Year to you as well. I did not see anywhere in your post that there was any intent or mention of spam. If anything I think you gave some good ways for someone, if they were interested, to take action and possibly build a business or at the least make some money. By you setting up your websites you are giving any individual the opportunity to come by and visit the site.

If they feel that it is something they might be interested in they may return or even spread the word about whether it is any good or not. I do not understand what Shawn was upset about. Maybe he will respond and let us all know as I did not get his point.

All of the points you mentioned were well placed opportunities that anyone would want to think about as they do hold the key for making money online. Keep up the good posts.

Shawn Blower: I’m sorry, but what you’re all calling “niche marketing” is more commonly referred to as spam.

First let me make clear that this post is not meant to cover all aspects of all of the methods I talked about, it was just a very quick overview of it and “over the next little while I will go into more detail about these topics”.

What I meant by method #2 is to create simple content web sites which target a specific topic/keyword. I did not say anything about copying text from another source and using that as content. What I meant was to research good keywords to write new content about, using tools like Google’s Keyword Tool and then “write some articles” about those keywords.

I see nothing wrong with finding keywords that people are using to look for information on, then writing your own content about those topics.

Since a single web site like that will probably not bring in a lot of money, I simply suggested to make more similar web sites “all targeting different keywords”… ie: NOT the same content on all of them. What’s wrong with making many different web sites which all contain good content that people are looking for, then placing ads on them to help make some money?

I hope I helped to clarify what I meant. In a future post I will try to go into more detail about it.

Note: I understand that not everyone is familiar with how online marketing works and the tools and jargon which is used. Because of that I can understand that there might be some misunderstandings.
