Since 2010 is still only just about a week old, there is still A LOT of time to get your online marketing efforts into full swing to start the year off with a BANG!
I discussed in an earlier blog post about how important it is to learn from people who are taking action and are where you want to be. I just wanted to touch on that again in this post, as I think many people skip past it without realizing just how important a teacher/mentor/coach can be.
One big trap that a lot of beginner marketers fall into is the feeling that they can do and learn everything themselves and still be successful within a few months. For the most part that can not be done, simply because there is so much to learn and so many distractions that will pop up.
I remember when I was starting out online I thought that way too, I wanted to do everything myself, and so I did. Since then I have learned to do just about anything that I could ever need to get done… but has it cost me a lot of time and money in the process? It probably has.
I spent probably days on end in the beginning to learn how to make a web site and figure out all of the hosting issues, but I did eventually get it done. I also learned over the years how to make some cool web graphics, how to use an autoresponder, 100+ ways to drive traffic to my sites, how to build an email list, how to write an ebook, and so many more things which I could never mention them all.
Note: As a beginner there are certain things that you really should learn how to do, but there are also many things which you don’t necessarily need to learn. They might be nice to learn, but it might be worth a lot more to get someone else to do it for you.
What I am getting at is that when you have a good mentor or coach who is helping you along and pointing you towards success, your job as a beginner becomes A LOT easier. If the coach is giving you step-by-step actions to take, you no longer have to worry about what your doing or if it will be successful, because your knowledgeable coach already knows it will be.
All you have to do is follow what they teach!
My good friend and “big dog guru” Doug Champigny is one of those mentors who knows exactly what needs to be done and can tell you how to do it, how to make 2010 your best year yet online.
Doug has set up a 4-week high-intensity PowerStart coaching program where he will walk you through the steps to get your own online business set up and ready to go. If you can follow instructions and want to get an internet business started up, then I strongly recommend this coaching. Don’t worry, this is not one of those thousands of dollars outsourced coaching programs. No, Doug will be there with you every step of the way.

Would have to agree 100% Joel,
Having a mentor is critical to getting on the right track and staying there.
I too have learned a lot over the last couple of years, but there will always be more to learn. I have not gotten to the point of outsourcing yet, but will be looking into it very shortly for some small tasks.
Doug’s PowerStart 2010 should be a great way for someone who is starting out or those who just can’t seem to get a handle on their business to learn from someone who has been, done that, and has the t-shirt to prove it.

Learning new things about marketing in a few months? Oh my goodness I have been learning for the past 12 years and still don’t consider myself successful. But I will continue to learn all I can and strive to build my business! Happy new Year!
Thanks for the kind words, Joel! And you’ve hit the nail on the head with this one – I’ve distilled the startup curve down to the necessary steps and laid them out in order, spread over the four weeks of the course. The pace will be hectic, but each week’s steps will include complete how-to videos created BY ME specifically for this curriculum. It’s going to take real action for people to keep up, but they’ll know how to do more online after 4 weeks than most newbies do a year or more into it. I’m looking forward to sharing their success stories with you a month from now!

The really good internet marketing blogs always say that you need a coach or a mentor if you want to be successful. After reading it here again, I’m beginning to understand. Even if it means shelling out hundreds of dollars for the seminar or the coaching, that translates to so much time and effort saved down the road.
It sounds like Doug is putting together a great internet marketing couching program. This should be a good program for the beginner as well as those that have been involved in internet marketing for a while.

Just like how the doctors, lawyers, and businessmen improve even more in their crafts, they do attend seminars, and other trainings. Same as with internet marketing, I think coaching services will really be of great help in attaining success on your online career. Thanks for this nice post buddy!

SO TRUE. I learned this the hard way, by doing everything myself, saving a lot of money, and wasting a lot of time. Now I know what I should be focusing my efforts on, and what I can outsource. Great post. I’m ready to rock this year.
Best wishes for 2010. Really Doug has made available a great coaching programme to new comers. His coaching programme will definitely help new comers to avoid trial and errors but unables them step by step to bring their online business off the ground.
good Luck.
Hey Joel,
Nicely written! Doug is one of the best and anyone willing to learn from him can’t go wrong! I can say it from perspective of a friend and someone who learned a TON from Doug!

It is important to start the year out strong. I think it gives you motivation to do well and one you see your results paying off it will be hard not to keep going strong.
Hi Joel you mirror my thoughts, as a mentor I tell my students I can decrease the learning curve and the time it takes.Get the benefit of all my years of mistakes
Good Luck
